Spelling Rules for Third Person Singular:

  • Verbs ending in -s, -sh, -ch, -x, -o → Add -es.
    watch → watches, go → goes
  • Verbs ending in a consonant + y → Change y to -ies.
    study → studies
  • All other verbs add -s.
    play → plays, read → reads
